Target Information
The anaphase-promoting complex (APC), also known as the cyclosome, is a large protein complex that facilitates the metaphase–anaphase transition by ubiquitinating specific substrates such as mitotic cyclins and anaphase inhibitors. These substrates are subsequently degraded by the 26S proteasome. Vertebrate APC has been shown to contain eight subunits.
