Product Specific Information

The OX-86 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD134 (OX40), a 50 kDa type I membrane glycoprotein of the TNF receptor superfamily expressed on activated mouse T lymphocytes. In mice, CD134 is expressed on both activated CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ T cells.
Interaction of CD134 with CD252 (OX40 ligand) is involved in T cell-dependent humoral responses, regulation of T cell expansion and survival, memory T cell pool size, and tolerance in CD4⁺ T cells.

Applications Reported:
OX-86 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometry, western blotting, and immunohistochemistry of frozen sections. It does not block CD134–CD252 binding but can be used in functional assays (use Functional Grade purified OX-86).

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometry on activated mouse splenocytes at ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell number may vary from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Antibody titration recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information

OX40 is a protein receptor on T cells that promotes proliferation and survival upon activation, enhancing immune responses against cancer and infections. OX40 agonists are under investigation for cancer immunotherapy and may improve efficacy of chemotherapy and checkpoint inhibitors. Potential applications also include autoimmune and allergy research.
