Target Information
GST (Glutathione S-transferase) is a 26 kDa protein found in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes, catalyzing various reactions. It is commonly used in the GST gene fusion system, allowing purification of GST-fusion proteins due to their high affinity for glutathione. These fusion proteins provide a useful biological assay for studying direct protein–protein interactions. The GST fusion system has been incorporated into numerous expression vectors.
