Target Information
CA125 determinant is present on a high molecular weight, mucin-like glycoprotein. It is expressed in tissues derived from coelomic and mullerian epithelium, including pleura, pericardium, peritoneum, and reproductive tract epithelium such as fallopian tube, endometrium, and endocervix. Expression is also observed in pancreas, colon, gall bladder, stomach, kidney, apocrine sweat gland, and mammary gland. CA125 is a well-known marker found in ovarian tumors of serous, endometrioid, or clear cell types, and in adenocarcinomas of mullerian origin.
