Target Information
SMC5는 SMC5-SMC6 복합체의 핵심 구성 요소로, 상동 재조합을 통한 DNA 이중가닥 절단 복구에 관여합니다. 이 복합체는 SMC1-SMC3 cohesin 복합체를 손상 부위로 모집하여 자매 염색분체의 재조합을 촉진할 수 있습니다. 또한 ALT(Alternative Lengthening of Telomeres) 세포에서 텔로미어 유지 및 shelterin 복합체의 sumoylation을 매개하여 PML 핵소체 내 복합체 해체를 유도하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. SMC5-SMC6 복합체는 텔로미어를 PML 핵소체로 모집하는 데 필요하며, 유사분열 전기에서 자매 염색분체 응집에도 관여합니다. 또한 원형 바이러스 DNA와 같은 episomal DNA의 전사를 억제할 수 있습니다.
