Target Information

ATP7A (Copper-transporting ATPase 1)
ATP7A is a transmembrane copper-translocating P-type ATPase essential for systemic copper absorption in the gut and reabsorption in the kidney. It is expressed in many tumor types and contributes to resistance against cisplatin and carboplatin. Mutations in ATP7A cause Menkes disease, a fatal disorder in early childhood.
