The 10C4 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and rat Bcl-2, also known as B cell lymphoma 2.
Bcl-2 is a key member of the Bcl-2 family that regulates cell death and survival. It inhibits apoptosis by preventing cytochrome c release from mitochondria. Overexpression or mutation of Bcl-2 is associated with various cancers.

Target Information
BCL-2 is a regulator of apoptosis, capable of both inhibiting and promoting cell death through dimerization with other BCL-2 family members.
Overexpression of BCL-2 is linked to cancers such as B-cell lymphoma and prostate cancer.
Two transcript variants exist, differing in their C-terminal regions.
