BAR 단백질은 공통된 N-말단 BAR 도메인을 특징으로 하는 어댑터 단백질 계열로, 다양한 세포 과정에 관여합니다.
BIN1(Bridging Integrator 1)과 BIN2는 BAR 단백질에 속합니다.
인간 BIN2 유전자는 염색체 4q22.1에 위치하며, 565 아미노산으로 구성된 약 62 kDa의 단백질을 암호화합니다.
BIN2는 조혈 조직에서 우세하게 발현되며, 비장과 말초 혈액 백혈구에서 가장 높은 mRNA 발현을 보이고, 흉선, 대장, 태반에서도 높은 수준을 나타냅니다.
BIN2는 약 80 kDa의 이동성을 보이며 BIN1과 상호작용하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
