This peptide corresponds to 19 amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human ZFP281.
PEP-1235 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-21121.

Target Information

ZFP281, also known as ZBP-99, is a member of a conserved family of transcription factors that interact with GC-rich promoters. It contains four Kruppel-like zinc fingers and is highly homologous to ZBP-89, another regulator of ornithine decarboxylase gene expression.

ZFP281 interacts with transcription factors such as Sp1 to repress vimentin gene transcription and plays a role in controlling embryonic stem cell pluripotency by directly regulating specific target genes. It physically interacts with POU5F1, Sox2, and NANOG. Gene expression microarray analysis indicates that ZFP281 can both activate and repress target genes, showing its bifunctional role in stem cell gene regulation.
