Target Information

UBE2O is an E2/E3 hybrid ubiquitin-protein ligase exhibiting both E2 and E3 ligase activities. It mediates monoubiquitination of target proteins and regulates various signaling pathways:

• Negatively regulates TRAF6-mediated NF-kappa-B activation independently of E2 activity.
• Positively regulates BMP7 signaling by monoubiquitinating SMAD6, influencing adipogenesis.
• Mediates monoubiquitination of nuclear localization signals (NLS) in BAP1, INO80, and CXXC1, affecting subcellular localization.
• Assists the TRIM27:MAGEL2 E3 ubiquitin ligase complex in Lys-63-linked ubiquitination of WASHC1, promoting endosomal F-actin assembly.
