Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
SSX2 belongs to the family of highly homologous synovial sarcoma X (SSX) breakpoint proteins, which may function as transcriptional repressors. These proteins can elicit spontaneous humoral and cellular immune responses in cancer patients and are potential targets for cancer vaccine-based immunotherapy.
SSX1, SSX2, and SSX4 genes are involved in the t(X;18) translocation found in all synovial sarcomas, resulting in fusion of the synovial sarcoma translocation gene on chromosome 18 with one of the SSX genes on chromosome X. The resulting hybrid proteins are likely responsible for transforming activity. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
