Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-κB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene located on chromosome 11 in humans. Also known as RelA, this protein belongs to the Rel family and forms part of the NF-κB complex, which includes p50 or p52 subunits. Activation occurs when TNF-α binds to its receptor, leading to phosphorylation and degradation of IκB, allowing NF-κB translocation to the nucleus. NF-κB p65 plays a crucial role in the transcription of the immunoglobulin κ (kappa) gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
