Target Information
ITGA3 (Integrin alpha-3), also known as CD49C, VLA3, or GAPB3, is encoded by the ITGA3 gene in humans. It is an integrin alpha subunit and a member of the cell surface adhesion molecule family.
- Chromosomal location: 17q21.33
- Forms half of the alpha3beta1 integrin duplex involved in neural migration and corticogenesis
- Linked to DAB1 phosphorylation and ITGA3 signaling for neuronal detachment
- Expression increases viral infectivity in CHO cells
- Contains 13 potential N-glycosylation sites, 2 cleavage sites, and 7 N-terminal repeating units typical of ITGAs
- Recombinant ITGA3 expressed as a 150-kD protein, identical in size to the native protein by Western blot analysis
