Target Information
GADD153 (also known as DDIT3 or CHOP) is a small nuclear protein that can dimerize with transcription factors C/EBP alpha and beta. This dimerization inhibits normal C/EBP binding and function, while enabling binding to stress-related targets. Under normal conditions, GADD153 expression is low, but it is strongly upregulated during cellular or ER stress, such as tunicamycin treatment, nutrient starvation, or disruption of ER calcium flux.
