Target Information
BGN (Biglycan) is a small cellular or pericellular matrix proteoglycan closely related to decorin and fibromodulin. It likely contains two glycosaminoglycan chains, hence the name “biglycan.” This protein is involved in connective tissue metabolism by binding collagen fibrils and transferring growth factor-beta, and may promote neuronal survival.
