ZIC2 (zinc finger protein of the cerebellum 2)는 전사 억제 인자로, 도파민 수용체 D1의 조직 특이적 발현을 조절할 수 있습니다. 마우스에서 Zic1 결손은 소뇌 무형성 및 골격 이상을 유발하며, Zic2 및 Zic3의 돌연변이는 사람과 마우스 모두에서 holoprosencephaly 및 heterotaxis를 일으킵니다. Holoprosencephaly는 인간 뇌의 가장 흔한 구조적 이상 중 하나입니다.
