Target Information
Actin polymerization is essential for various cellular processes such as chemotaxis, migration, adhesion, and platelet activation. The Arp2/3 complex facilitates actin nucleation and branching by interacting with actin filaments, promoting growth in the barbed direction. It also mediates actin cytoskeletal outgrowths regulated by Rho family GTPases. In response to GTP-binding Cdc42, the Arp2/3 complex binds WASP proteins to initiate lamellipodia and filopodia formation.
