Target Information
SAMSN (also known as HACS1) is part of a novel gene family of adaptor and scaffold proteins containing SH3 and SAM (sterile alpha motif) domains.
It encodes a 441 amino acid protein differentially expressed in hematopoietic cells and malignancies such as myeloid leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma.
SAMSN expression is restricted in human tissues and is up-regulated by B cell activation signals. It participates in B cell activation and differentiation and functions as an immunoinhibitory adaptor, potentially serving as a target for immune suppression therapy.
