Product Specific Information
Antibody detects endogenous levels of Acetyl-Histone H2A only when acetylated at Lys9.
Target Information
Histones are basic nuclear proteins responsible for the nucleosome structure of chromosomal fibers in eukaryotes. Two molecules each of H2A, H2B, H3, and H4 form an octamer around which approximately 146 bp of DNA is wrapped, forming nucleosomes. The linker histone H1 interacts with linker DNA between nucleosomes and aids in chromatin compaction.
This gene is intronless and encodes a member of the histone H4 family. Transcripts lack polyA tails but contain a palindromic termination element. The gene is located in the large histone gene cluster on chromosome 6.
