AMP deaminase (AMPD)는 아데노신 대사 조절에 관여하는 알로스테릭 효소입니다. 이 효소는 AMP를 IMP로 탈아미노화하여 암모니아를 방출하며, 퓨린 뉴클레오타이드 생합성의 중심 반응을 촉매합니다.
AMPD1(E.C. No 3.5.4.6.)은 골격근 특이적 아이소폼으로, II형 근섬유, 신경근 접합부, 모세혈관에 존재합니다. 이 단백질은 AMPD 다유전자 패밀리의 주요 구성원으로 세포의 에너지 요구 변화를 감지하는 센서 역할을 합니다.
AMPD1 결핍은 ATP 분해율 감소, 포스포크레아틴 가수분해 저하, 젖산 축적으로 인한 불규칙한 근육 대사를 유발할 수 있습니다. 변이된 AMPD1 발현은 신경근 질환, 운동 유발 근육병증, 관상동맥 질환으로 인한 울혈성 심부전 등에서 보고되었습니다.
