Target Information

CHEK1 (CHK1) is a serine/threonine protein kinase that prevents replication when DNA integrity is compromised. It is a key mediator in the DNA damage-induced checkpoint network and plays a crucial role in maintaining genomic integrity upon genotoxic stress.
Inhibition of CHK1 can lead to mitotic catastrophe and apoptosis in p53-deficient cancer cells, making CHK1 an attractive therapeutic target for cancer treatment, as approximately 50% of all human cancers are p53-deficient.
