Product Specific Information
The RM4-5 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD4 molecule, a 55 kDa cell surface receptor expressed by most thymocytes, subsets of mature T cells, and dendritic cells. CD4 binds to MHC class II molecules on antigen-presenting cells and plays a key role in T-cell development and activation. Binding of RM4-5 is blocked by GK1.5.

Target Information
CD4 is a co-receptor for MHC class II molecules and is primarily expressed on T helper cells, as well as monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It is involved in T-cell activation via association with the T-cell receptor complex and Lck kinase. CD4 expression is found in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and other tissues. It also plays a role in neuronal damage during immune-mediated diseases.
