Target Information
GMF beta is a protein phosphorylated following phorbol ester stimulation and plays a critical role in the nervous system. It promotes brain cell differentiation, stimulates neural regeneration, and inhibits tumor cell proliferation. Overexpression in astrocytes enhances BDNF production, contributing to neuroprotection. GMF expression increases with exercise and is essential for exercise-induced BDNF production. In thymoma, GMF supports T-cell development through tumor cell production.
