Product Specific Information
- For Western blot using alkaline phosphatase plus chromagen, a dilution of at least 1:1000 is recommended.
- For chemiluminescence, use at a dilution of 1:20,000.
- Stable at 4°C for at least one year.
- Mix 1:1 with 100% glycerol and store at -20°C for longer term storage.
Target Information
Neurofilaments are intermediate filament proteins found specifically in neurons, composed predominantly of three major proteins: NF-L, NF-M, and NF-H.
NF-L (light chain) is a low molecular weight microfilament subunit (~70 kDa) involved in maintaining neuronal caliber.
NF-H (heavy chain) runs on SDS-PAGE gels in the range of 180–220 kDa, with some variation across species.
Expression of these proteins is tissue-specific and developmentally regulated.
