Target Information
RLIP76 can specifically activate hydrolysis of GTP bound to RAC1 and CDC42, but not RALA. It mediates ATP-dependent transport of S-(2,4-dinitrophenyl)-glutathione (DNP-SG) and doxorubicin (DOX), serving as the major ATP-dependent transporter of glutathione conjugates of electrophiles (GS-E) and DOX in erythrocytes. RLIP76 can catalyze transport of glutathione conjugates and xenobiotics, potentially contributing to multidrug resistance. It also functions as a scaffold protein, assembling proteins into an endocytotic complex during interphase and interacting with CDC2 to regulate endocytosis. One of its substrates is EPN1/Epsin.
