Target Information
Members of the Dynamin family include GTPase, microtubule-associated proteins involved in cellular trafficking, such as microtubule bundling and endocytosis.
Mx1 (MxA) is an interferon-induced protein conferring resistance to influenza A virus and vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV), suggesting an antiviral role.
Mx1 shares 63% identity with Mx2 (MxB), which lacks antiviral activity. Mx2 localizes to the cytoplasmic face of nuclear pores and is not interferon-dependent. It may regulate nuclear import efficiency and kinetics.
