Target Information

Anaplastic Lymphoma Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (ALK) belongs to the insulin receptor superfamily and is essential for brain development. Mutations, rearrangements, and amplifications in the ALK gene are associated with tumors such as anaplastic large cell lymphoma, neuroblastoma, and non-small cell lung cancer. Chromosomal rearrangement typically fuses the ALK gene (chromosome 2) with the nucleophosmin gene (chromosome 5), forming the oncogenic NPM-ALK fusion gene. ALK possesses a transmembrane and extracellular domain, absent in the NPM-ALK product, and shows high similarity to LTK. It plays a critical role in neuronal development and signaling.
