Target Information
CXCL12 is a stromal cell-derived alpha chemokine of the intercrine family. Together with its receptor CXCR4, it activates lymphocytes and is implicated in cancer metastasis, including breast cancer. Mutations in this gene are associated with resistance to HIV-1 infection. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
