Target Information

Elsilimomab is a biosimilar that targets IL6. The IL6 gene encodes a cytokine involved in inflammation and B cell maturation. The protein is mainly produced at sites of acute and chronic inflammation, secreted into serum, and induces transcriptional inflammatory responses through the interleukin 6 receptor alpha.
Its function is associated with various inflammation-related disease states, including susceptibility to diabetes mellitus and systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
