Target Information
This gene encodes a cytoplasmic protein containing SH3 domains. It is a member of a protein family involved in clathrin-mediated endocytosis. Intersectin 2 regulates the formation of clathrin-coated vesicles and may function in the induction of T cell antigen receptor (TCR) endocytosis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encode three distinct isoforms; additional variants exist but their full-length nature has not been determined.
