  • Reconstitute antibody with 50 µL of double distilled water (DDW).
  • The reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week.

Homology:

  • Complexin 1: Mouse, human amino acid residues are identical.
  • Complexin 2: Rat, mouse, human – 13/14 amino acid residues identical.

Target Information

Complexins (1–4) are small cytosolic proteins that bind tightly to SNARE protein complexes to regulate synaptic vesicle membrane fusion via interaction with synaptotagmin.
They activate rapid neurotransmitter release triggered by calcium and also regulate spontaneous neurotransmitter release.
Complexins are evolutionarily conserved across mammals, Drosophila, and C. elegans.

They consist of four domains:

  1. N-terminal domain: Activates fast synchronous release in neurons and chromaffin cells.
  2. C-terminal domain: Binds phospholipids, regulates spontaneous release, and suppresses Ca²⁺-independent fusion.
  3. Accessory domain: Required for regulating spontaneous release.
  4. Central α-helical domain: Essential for all functions.
