Fibulin 5는 탄성섬유 형성에 필수적인 단백질로, 연속적인 엘라스틴(ELN) 중합체의 조립에 관여하며 미세섬유와 ELN의 상호작용을 촉진합니다. 피부, 폐, 혈관 내 탄성섬유를 안정화하고 조직화하며, integrin 및 RGD 모티프를 통한 내피세포 부착을 촉진합니다. 혈관 발달 및 리모델링 과정에서 integrin 수용체의 혈관 리간드로 작용할 수 있습니다.
