CD99 (E2, MIC2)는 T 세포의 부착 특성과 세포사 조절에 관여하는 막단백질로, 일반적인 세포사 경로와는 다른 형태의 프로그램된 세포사에 관여합니다. CD99의 역할은 corticothymocyte 등 특정 T 세포 분화 단계에서 특이적으로 나타나며, CD99R isoform은 T, NK 및 myeloid 세포에서 제한적으로 발현됩니다.
