Target Information

SLC43A2 is a uniporter that mediates transport of stereospecific L-phenylalanine, L-methionine, and L-branched-chain amino acids between the extracellular space and cytoplasm. It may regulate transepithelial reabsorption of neutral amino acids in the kidney and small intestine. Transport occurs via facilitated diffusion and is independent of sodium ions, chloride ions, and pH.
