Target Information
EBP (Emopamil-binding protein)은 소포체 막에 존재하는 integral membrane protein으로, 항허혈성 phenylalkylamine Ca²⁺ antagonist [³H]emopamil 및 photoaffinity label [³H]azidopamil의 고친화도 결합 단백질입니다.
이 단백질은 sigma receptor와 유사하며, 다양한 조직의 소포체 내 고친화성 약물 결합 단백질 초과가족(superfamily)에 속할 가능성이 있습니다.
EBP는 세균 및 진핵 생물의 약물 수송 단백질과 구조적 특징을 공유하며, 네 개의 막관통 영역과 두 개의 보존된 glutamate 잔기를 포함합니다. 이 잔기들은 양이온성 amphiphilic 물질의 수송에 관여할 수 있습니다.
또한 EBP는 막관통 영역 내 방향족 아미노산 함량이 높아(>23%) P-glycoprotein에 의한 약물 수송과 관련된 것으로 제안되었습니다.
EBP 유전자의 변이는 Chondrodysplasia punctata 2 (CDPX2; Conradi-Hunermann syndrome)와 연관됩니다.
