Product Specific Information

  • For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
  • For conjugation experiments, perform desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The ubiquitin (Ub) pathway involves three sequential enzymatic steps that facilitate the conjugation of Ub and Ub-like molecules to specific protein substrates:

  1. Activation: The Ub C-terminus is activated in an ATP-dependent manner by the E1 enzyme.
  2. Conjugation: The activated Ub is transferred to the E2 conjugating enzyme, forming a Ub-E2 intermediate.
  3. Ligation: The E3 ligase catalyzes the transfer of Ub from E2 to target substrates.

UBE2E3 (also known as UBCH9) catalyzes the covalent attachment of ubiquitin to proteins and regulates transepithelial sodium transport in renal cells. It may also be involved in cell growth arrest. UBE2E3 shuttles between the cytoplasm and nucleus in an IPO11-dependent manner and is ubiquitously expressed at low levels, with high expression in skeletal muscle.
