Target Information
Sm-like proteins were identified in various organisms based on sequence homology with the Sm protein family (see SNRPD2). These proteins contain the Sm sequence motif, consisting of two regions separated by a variable-length linker that folds as a loop. Sm-like proteins are believed to form stable heteromers present in tri-snRNP particles, which play important roles in pre-mRNA splicing.
