Target Information
The presynaptic active zone mediates synaptic vesicle exocytosis at a synapse. RIM proteins act as scaffolding molecules that mediate vesicle priming and interact with other essential presynaptic proteins.
RIMBP2 encodes RIMS-binding protein 2, a member of the RIMBP family, localized mainly at the synaptic plasma membrane.
By interacting with RIMS1, RIMS2, CACNA1D, and CACNA1B via SH3 domains, RIMBP2 functions as a bifunctional linker mediating synaptic transmission.
