Cellular Localization	Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, cell junction (tight junction), Golgi apparatus, spindle, ruffle membrane, cytoplasmic vesicle. Localizes to cortical microtubule tips during mitosis and redistributes upon microtubule depolymerization. Recruited into membrane ruffles at tight junctions of polarized epithelial cells and colocalized with NOD2 and RIPK2 in vesicles and cytoskeleton.
Background	Rho GTPases are key regulators of cellular processes triggered by extracellular stimuli acting through G protein-coupled receptors. The encoded protein forms complexes with G proteins to stimulate Rho-dependent signaling. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified (RefSeq, Jun 2009).
