Product Specific Information

This antibody detects endogenous levels of Cyclin B1 only when phosphorylated at Ser128.

Target Information

Cyclins bind to and regulate the activity of Cyclin-dependent protein kinases (CDKs). Cyclin B1 (CCNB1) is a regulatory protein involved in mitosis and is essential for controlling the cell cycle at the G2/M transition. Cyclin B1 complexes with p34 (cdc2) to form the maturation-promoting factor (MPF). Two alternative transcripts exist: one constitutively expressed and another cell cycle-regulated, predominantly during G2/M phase. Cyclin B1 accumulates during G2 phase and is rapidly degraded at the end of mitosis via APC-dependent mechanisms. Overexpression of Cyclin B1 is observed in various cancers, including breast, prostate, and non-small cell lung cancer.
