Target Information
This gene encodes one of three natriuretic peptide receptors. Natriuretic peptides regulate blood volume, pressure, pulmonary hypertension, and cardiac function, as well as certain metabolic and growth processes. The encoded receptor mediates clearance of circulating and extracellular natriuretic peptides through receptor endocytosis. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
