EGFR (Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor)는 다양한 성장인자에 반응하는 수용체 티로신 키나아제로, 여러 종류의 암에서 과발현되는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. EGFR은 인간의 염색체 7에 위치한 EGFR 유전자에 의해 발현되며, HER/ERbB 단백질 패밀리(ERbB2, ERbB3, ERbB4 포함)에 속합니다. EGF 및 TGF-α 등의 리간드 결합은 EGFR의 이합체 형성과 세포질 도메인 내 티로신 잔기의 자가 인산화를 유도합니다. 과발현은 두경부, 뇌, 방광, 위, 유방, 폐, 자궁내막, 자궁경부, 외음부, 난소, 식도 및 편평세포암 등 다양한 종양에서 관찰됩니다.
