Product Specific Information

The 8A7 monoclonal antibody reacts with the human BAFF receptor (CD268), also known as the B lymphocyte stimulator (BLyS protein) receptor, expressed on B cells.
BAFF (B cell-activating factor of the TNF family) acts as a B cell survival factor and regulates CD21/35 and CD23 expression. Interaction with its receptor increases CD21/35 and CD23 expression, while receptor blockade down-modulates these markers.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis and functional assays.
Applications Tested: Flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells at ≤ 0.25 µg/test (defined as antibody amount for 100 µL cell sample, typically 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Titrate for optimal performance.

Storage and Handling: Use in a sterile environment.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 13C (TNFRSF13C), also known as BAFFR, is encoded by the TNFRSF13C gene located on chromosome 22q13.1–q13.31.
This 184-amino acid transmembrane protein shares 56% identity with the mouse homolog. BAFF enhances B-cell survival and regulates peripheral B-cell populations, playing a critical role in B-cell development and signaling through multiple receptors including BCMA.
