Peutz-Jeghers Syndrome (PJS)은 입술의 멜라닌성 반점, 위장관 과오종성 폴립, 다양한 종류의 암 위험 증가를 특징으로 하는 희귀 유전 질환입니다. Serine/threonine kinase LKB1(STK11)은 PJS에서 돌연변이된 유전자로 확인되었습니다. LKB1 활성은 STRAD alpha 및 MO25 alpha로 구성된 조절 복합체 결합 시 증가합니다. STRAD와 MO25는 LKB1의 세포내 위치를 조절하여 핵에서 세포질로의 이동을 유도하고, LKB1의 종양 억제 활성을 조절합니다. LKB1/STRAD/MO25 복합체는 AMP-activated protein kinase kinase (AMPKK)로 작용합니다.
