Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Mammaglobin.
Target Information
Mammaglobin is a gene expressed almost exclusively in the normal breast epithelium and human breast cancer. It belongs to the secretoglobin gene family and forms a heterodimer with lipophilin B. Mammaglobin may serve as a useful marker for breast cancer research. Studies using RT-PCR detection of mRNA from circulating carcinoma cells in peripheral blood have shown mammaglobin to be a highly specific marker correlated with prognostic factors such as lymph node involvement.
