Target Information
Caspase-2 유전자는 cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) 계열에 속하는 단백질을 암호화합니다. Caspase의 연속적 활성화는 세포 사멸(apoptosis)의 실행 단계에서 중심적인 역할을 합니다. Caspase는 비활성 전구효소 형태로 존재하며, 보존된 aspartic 잔기에서의 절단을 통해 두 개의 소단위체(대형 및 소형)를 생성하고, 이들이 이합체를 형성하여 활성 효소를 만듭니다. 다양한 세포 사멸 자극에 의해 이 단백질의 절단이 유도되며, 대체 스플라이싱을 통해 여러 전사체 변형이 생성되어 서로 다른 아이소폼을 암호화합니다.
