Product Specific Information

  • Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature (RT).
  • Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.
  • This antibody shows broad species reactivity.

Target Information

Cytokeratin pan belongs to a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by biochemical diversity, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 different polypeptides.
Cytokeratins range in molecular weight between 40–68 kDa and have an isoelectric pH between 4.9–7.8. The individual human cytokeratins are numbered 1 to 20.
Expression patterns of cytokeratin subtypes are characteristic of epithelial types and their maturation or differentiation states.
These patterns assist in distinguishing different epithelial malignancies and are useful in tumor differential diagnosis, cytopathology, and flow cytometry.
Cytokeratin pair composition varies by cell type, differentiation stage, growth environment, and disease state.
Keratins serve as valuable markers in cancer research and tumor diagnosis.
