Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
COL5A2 encodes an alpha chain of type V collagen, one of the low-abundance fibrillar collagens. Fibrillar collagen molecules are trimers that can contain one or more types of alpha chains. Type V collagen is typically found in tissues containing type I collagen and regulates the assembly of heterotypic fibers composed of both type I and type V collagen. This protein is closely related to type XI collagen, and it is possible that collagens of types V and XI represent a single collagen type with tissue-specific chain combinations.
