Target Information
The A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are a group of structurally diverse proteins that bind to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA), confining the holoenzyme to discrete cellular locations.
The AKAP10 gene encodes a dual-specific AKAP that interacts with both type I and type II PKA regulatory subunits and is highly enriched in mitochondria.
It contains RGS domains and a PKA-RII subunit-binding domain, suggesting a role in both PKA and G protein signal transduction.
