Target Information
The Lamin B Receptor protein belongs to the ERG4/ERG24 family and is localized in the inner membrane of the nuclear envelope. It anchors the lamina and heterochromatin to the membrane and may mediate interactions between chromatin and lamin B. Mutations in this gene are associated with autosomal recessive HEM/Greenberg skeletal dysplasia. Alternative splicing at this locus produces two transcript variants encoding the same protein.
